To the Residents and Business Owners in Draycott and Church Wilne
The Parish Council are aware of the consultation events being held by National Grid regarding the grid upgrade and Roger Brown, our Chairman attended a meeting of Derbyshire Parish Councils who may be affected by these overhead electricity lines and pylons on 4th July 2024.
Please note that this is at consultation stage and each individual is entitled to feedback their thoughts and we would encourage you to do so.
The Parish Council will discuss their collective response once the Councillors have attended the consultation meeting (either in person or via the webinar)
The most local event to Draycott is the Borrowash event on Wednesday 24 July between 2-7pm at Ashbrook Community Centre, Ashbrook Avenue, Borrowash DE72 3JE – you are entitled to attend any event and there is an online webinar specifically for the Ockbrook to Aston on Trent section on Thursday 25th July at 6pm – you will need to register for this by calling 0800 073 1047 or email chesterfield-willington@nationalgrid.com
At our next Parish Council meeting on 10th July (from 6.30pm onwards), we will arrange a date for an extra meeting in early August and will invite the public to attend so that we can get your feedback to enable the council to determine their collective response taking into account the majority views. This is not a replacement for your individual views and the Parish Council feedback is only one representation and will not hold any more weight than your own comments to the National Grid.
