Evidence of Blue Green Algae at St Chads Water LNR (September 2021)

The environment agency have tested the lake and found evidence of Blue Green Algae  (confirmed Wednesday 8th September 2021)

Many waters are susceptible to problems with blue green algae, typically between June and November.  Once algal numbers are high the bloom is likely to persist throughout the season before declining at the onset of unstable weather conditions.

We have put up signs at St Chads to warn visitors – PLEASE do not let your dogs enter or drink from the lake as this can be very harmful to them.
