Roger Brown – Chairman
Roger has lived in the village since July 1989. For the last few years he has been an active member of Draycott in Bloom and more recently a member of Draycott Village Fund. He will seek to use the experience gained from working within these groups to help Draycott thrive as a village.
Roger became the Chairman of the Parish Council and Chair of Draycott Millennium Green Trust in May 2024.

Tim Scott – Vice Chairman
Tim came to live in the village in 2010 and has been a Parish Councillor since September 2017. He was elected to represent the ward of Draycott and Risley at Erewash Borough Council in May 2019. He works for East Midlands Railway in Derby and loves village life.

Tom Hickton
Tom has been a Parish Councillor since March 2022.
Tom has lived in Draycott since a very young age and attended Draycott Primary School and then Wilsthorpe Community School.

Stephen Flint
Steve has been a Parish Councillor since February 2022.

Steve Wakefield
Steve has been a Parish Councillor since February 2022.

Garry has been a Parish Councillor since December 2025.
Garry has lived in the village since 1984. He is interested in looking after the community and ensuring that Draycott thrives as a village.

Pete Bates
Pete was elected to be a Parish Councillor in April 2026
Pete has lived in the village since 2002. He is the Secretary of St Chads Fishing Club, a member of Draycott Community Speedwatch and a member of Draycott Greenbelt Crew. He deeply embedded in the local community of Draycott and believes in supporting the local cafes, shops, pubs and businesses

The Clerk is employed on a part-time basis (20 hours per week) and will respond to any inquiry as quickly as possible in office hours. She is also the only employee so may not always be in the office (annual leave, inspecting lands and property etc) so please call or email where you can to arrange a time to visit.
Lead Councillors
From May 2026, the Council appointed the following people Lead Councillors who will be the main contact point for the public and will also support the clerk in the decisions made by the full council at their meetings:
Cemetery – Lead Councillor Diane Dundas
The Cemetery is on Hopwell Road and has been improved in recent years. The council are also responsible for the War Memorial on Station Road and organising the Remembrance Service
Finance – Lead Councillor Steve Wakefield
Plans and recommends the annual budget and precept to the full council for approval and other financial matters as required.
St Chads’ Local Nature Reserve – Lead Councillor Jenny Fletcher
- St Chad’s Water Local Nature Reserve – is on the outskirts of the village at Church Wilne. The area was created following gravel extraction and has benefited from improvements to paths, seating and car parking
Playing Fields, Leisure Green, Draycott Millennium Green Trust Land – Lead Councillor Steve Flint
- Playing Fields – the maintenance of the Playing Fields and Millennium Green on Hopwell Road.
- Leisure Green – this area of open space is off Derby Road. It has a Multi-use games area and a concrete chess table and table tennis table and is home to the buildings used by the 1st Draycott and Wilne Scout Group, the Draycott and Long Eaton Table Tennis Club and the Army Cadets Draycott Detachment.

Planning and Transport – Lead Councillor Tim Scott The council has delegated authority to respond to any non-contentious planning applications submitted for the parish to the Clerk based on the following:
Upon receiving notice from EBC for a planning application, the clerk will forward the notice to all Councillors and ask for their opinion / response within 1 week
If there is a mixed response of Objection / No Objection, the clerk will arrange a meeting so that the council can determine a majority decision at a properly constituted meeting of the full council (summonsed and advertised so that members of the public can attend if they so wish)
Where the application is for more than 2 new houses, the clerk will automatically call a properly constituted meeting of the full council (summoned and advertised so that members of the public can attend if they so wish)
