This issue is one of the biggest complaints we receive from our residents and we have taken action!
Over the past year or so, we have set up a Draycott Community Speedwatch Group and since November 2022, we have counted nearly 8000 vehicles when we are out and 195 vehicles have been speeding at 36mph and higher when we have been out!!!
We have also obtained grant funding from the Police and Crime Commissioners Office for the purchase and installation of 2 Speed Indicator Devices that we have obtained the relevant permission from Derbyshire County Council Highways to move around 4 approved locations in Draycott. They were installed on Thursday 13th July 2023.
We have done our best to listen and act on your concerns and hope that these two initiatives help make Draycott roads safer.
