MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD IN THE PARISH ROOMS ELVASTON STREET, DRAYCOTT ON TUESDAY 14 APRIL 2015 AT 8.00PM

040/15. Apologies- RESOLVED to approve the apologies for absence submitted on behalf of Councillors C Wheatley, M Tudbury, D Orchard and PCSO K Pykett.
041/15. Variation of Order of Business – none.
042/15. Declaration of Members Interests – Cllr A Perkins declared an interest in Minute 048/15b) as he is member of the Draycott Village Fund and Minute 049/15a) – payment to Boston Promotions – as he is the owner of the company. Cllr D Dundas declared an interest in Minute 048/15b) as her husband is a member of the Draycott Village Fund. The Councillors remained in the meeting for these items but took no part in the discussions or voting.
043/15. Dispensations – none.
044/15. Public Speaking –
Mr Aram asked if the Parish Council would consider the relocation of the War Memorial. It was agreed that this would be included on the agenda for discussion at the next Parish Council meeting.
PCSO Pykett had provided a written report detailing 5 crimes in the parish since the last meeting.
Cllr Clare reported on hers and the Clerks attendance at the DALC Spring Seminar event.
045/15.Minutes – RESOLVED to confirm as a correct record the Minutes of the meeting held on the 10 March 2015.
046/15 To determine which items if any from Part 1 of the Agenda should be taken with
the public excluded. – No items were deemed confidential.
047/15 Chairman’s Announcements – the Chairman reported the results of the uncontested election and informed the meeting that there was one casual vacancy. This is currently being advertised on the Parish Council web-site and notice boards and an appointment will be made at the next meeting.
048/15. Report of the Parish Clerk –
a)Christmas Illuminations 2015 – i) quotations received for additional pea-lights – RESOLVED that Leisure Lites be appointed contractors for the provision of additional pea-lites and the installation/removal of Christmas Lights for 2015 at a cost of £2530.
ii) Report on the provision of a natural Christmas tree – RESOLVEDto pursue the option of planting a Christmas Tree in the village in the area near the public toilets with Officers/Members of Erewash Borough Council.
b) Draycott in Bloom/Draycott Village Fund – proposed works at St Chad’s Water LNR, Draycott Millennium Green and Parish Rooms – the response to the suggested works was RESOLVED.
c) Draycott and Long Eaton Table Tennis Club – request to install a notice board – RESOLVED that the request be refused.
d) Leisure Green, Draycott – request from resident to re-instate streetlight in car park – RESOLVED that the request be refused.
e) Brass Band Concert – RESOLVED to note that the Newmount Brass Band will be performing on Sunday 28 June 2015 at 2.30pm at the Leisure Green.
f) Draycott Cemetery – tree works – RESOLVED to note that tree works were carried out at Draycott Cemetery by Horizon Landscapes Ltd at a cost of £1500.
g) ICCM – subscription – RESOLVED to continue the subscription to the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management at a cost of £90.
h) Local Council Award Scheme – RESOLVED to consider whether to make an application for an award at the June meeting.
