MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD IN THE PARISH ROOMS ELVASTON STREET, DRAYCOTT ON TUESDAY 13 JUNE 2017 AT 7.30PM

66/17. Apologies- RESOLVED to approve the apologies for absence submitted on behalf of Councillor McCandless and County Councillor R Parkinson

70/17. Public Speaking – Mr Batchelor attended the meeting on behalf of the DVF with the following enquiries; i) could a memorial seat be placed at St Chad’s Water LNR and ii) would the Parish Council submit a planning application on behalf of the DVF (fee to be paid by the fund) thus taking advantage of the beneficial charges for Parish Councils. Mr Batchelor was asked to put the enquiries in writing but was advised that there was a policy that no further seats were to be erected at St Chad’s Water LNR and other potential areas were discussed. It was agreed that authority be delegated to the Chairman and the vice-Chairman of the Planning Committee on whether to agree to the planning application request when received. Cllr Fletcher congratulated the DVF on the success of the ‘picnic in the park’ and these congratulations were endorsed by all Members.
Cllr Timberley commented on the grass cutting recently carried out by EMH and further issues with the housing association. Cllr Gelsthorpe commented on the graffiti etc on the train in the play area. He was informed that this was an ongoing issue and the graffiti was removed on a regular basis. Photos had been sent to the police and they had been asked to monitor.
Derbyshire Constabulary – PCSO Pykett had provided a written report detailing 6 crimes Erewash Borough Council – Cllr Clare reported on Borough activities.
Councillor Wilson reported that he and the vice Chairman of the SCW Cttee, Chairman and Clerk had met with members of the fishing club to discuss current issues at the Water.
71/17.Minutes – RESOLVED to confirm as a correct record the Minutes of the meetings held on the 9 May 2017 and 13 June 2017.

73/17 Chairman’s Announcements. – the Chairman reported that she had made a donation from Chairman’s Allowance on behalf of the Parish Council in memory of Cllr Orchard.
She reported that the vacancy was being advertised. The arrangements for the Band Concert were confirmed.
74/17. Report of the Parish Clerk –
a) Open spaces works – RESOLVED to carry out works identified at the Cemetery, Playing Fields/ Draycott Millennium Green and Leisure Green. It was agreed that an Awards for Application be made in due course for work at St Chad’s Water LNR.
b) EBC – Mobile Sports Activities – RESOLVED not to provide any activities over the school summer holidays. It was agreed that the reasons for the decision be published.
c) CCTV cameras at Leisure Green – RESOLVED to note the report.
