MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD IN THE PARISH ROOMS ELVASTON STREET, DRAYCOTT ON TUESDAY 12 DECEMBER 2017 AT 7.00PM

Derbyshire Constabulary – PCSO Pykett had provided a written report detailing 11 crimes and 6 ASB’s. She had commented that there had been a large number of vehicle crimes in the area (not just Draycott) and this is being investigated by dedicated Police Officers.
Derbyshire County Council – Cllr Parkinson had produced a written report.
Erewash Borough Council – Cllr Clare reported on Borough activities.
Councillor Rogerson reported on his attendance at the Scout Executive.
Councillor Clare reported on her attendance together with the Clerk’s at the Borough/Parish Forum.
137/17.Minutes – RESOLVED to confirm as a correct record the Minutes of the meetings held on the 14 November 2017 and 12 December 2017.

139/17 Chairman’s Announcements. – Councillor Clare thanked Councillors Gelsthorpe and Alexander who had ‘switched-on’ the Christmas lights. She also thanked Councillors Fletcher and Dundas who are carrying out ongoing inspections of the tree and lights. It was agreed that the DVF be congratulated on the Dickensian Christmas Market and Christmas Lights switch-on. She reminded Councillors of the Finance Committee meeting on the 19 December 2017. She reported with sadness the passing of Joe Haddon Holmes who had been the village Police Officer for many years. She informed the meeting that she would be making a donation from the Chairman’s Allowance to the family’s chosen charity in memory of Joe.
140/17. Report of the Parish Clerk –
i) Request for a geocache placement at St Chad’s Water LNR – RESOLVED to note that confirmation has been received from the Council’s insurers that this will have no implications on the Council’s public liability insurance has been received and the request has therefore been approved in accordance with Minute 127/17ii) – 14/11/17.
ii) Derbyshire Constabulary – attendance at Parish Council meetings – RESOLVED that an Officer of the Derbyshire Constabulary be asked to attend at least two Parish Council meetings a year.
iii) Society of Local Council Clerks – RESOLVED to continue the subscription.
iv) Appointment of External Auditor 2017/18 – RESOLVED to note that PKF Littlejohn LLP has been appointed External Auditors for 2017/18.
v) EBC- Brass Band Concert 2018 – RESOLVED i) that EBC be asked to arrange a brass band concert on Sunday 1 July 2018 ii) that a donation of £75 be made to the 1st Draycott and Wilne Scout Group for hosting the event.
vi) Sawley Road, Draycott – RESOLVED to note the correspondence from Derbyshire County Council and to ask that they consider extending the 30mph limit to where the ‘slow down’ signs start.
